Opportunity Class (OC)

If the student is exceptional and academically brilliant, sometimes the contents taught in the classroom are just too easy for him/her. The learning needs and interests of such students should be given a sincere attention. The Opportunity Class (OC) classes are suitable to students who are gifted and have strong academic ability.

OC is an exam for talented and gifted students who are currently in Year 5 and/or Year 6. Students who wish to be placed in OC in Year 5 are supposed to sit the OC test during their Year 4.

The entry into OC is mainly governed by following three parameters:

  • How are the results of a student in OC English reading & comprehension, Mathematics and General Ability?
  • How are the assessments of the student from his/her school?
  • How are the scores of a student in English and Mathematics during Year 3 and Year 4 NAPLAN?

  • OC Placement Test involves two parts. There are two parts (Part 1 and Part 2) to the test each comprising multiple-choice questions in:

  • English (total 20 questions)
  • Mathematics (total 20 questions)
  • General Ability (total 30 questions)
